Anthony Condoleo, Supervisor, Not-For-Profit & Assurance – Humans of DSJ

Meet Anthony Condoleo

Supervisor, Not-For-Profit & Assurance

“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” – Charlie Chaplin.

It’s Anthony Condoleo’s favorite quote, and perhaps there is no better one to describe this Human of DSJ. You could say Condoleo is a work-hard-play-hard kind of guy: he is as easy-going as he is determined. He’s the person you go to with an important task or for a great story. He’s a jack of all trades who doesn’t seem to miss a beat.

A Supervisor for our Not-For-Profit & Assurance team, Anthony has an unparalleled work ethic. His dependability, hard-working nature, and reliability are but a few traits that helped him land his first job out of college (CW Post, now LIU Post) here with DSJ. He has been here since, growing alongside the company: “I’ve been here long enough that it feels more like a family than a job,” he says. The best part of the job is getting to work with clients, “building their businesses with them and being a valuable resource to them.”

Condoleo is as skilled in his professional work as he is in other, more creative pursuits, specifically in the kitchen. “I’m a beer nerd and a foodie,” he says. But he doesn’t take credit for his cooking skills: “My mom is the reason I love to cook… she’s the best one I know.” He’s even confirmed his culinary talents, taking the silver medal in the DSJ Bake-Off with a dual entry of chocolate amaretto cake and chocolate coconut bars. (Yes, they were as delicious as they sound!)

Not just for her cooking, but for her perseverance has Anthony’s mother been an inspiration to him. He credits his father as well for his diligent work ethic. The first-generation American takes great pride in his parents, their Italian heritage, and what they’ve taught him about hard work. “I’m most proud of how hard my parents worked to provide an education for me that they were unable to provide for themselves and for instilling the work ethic that it takes to make it in this world.”

Condoleo’s father and mother moved to America at ages 21 and 14, respectively, from Calabria, Italy. They raised Anthony, his brother, and his sister in Hicksville, giving them a typical Long Island, American upbringing. “My childhood consisted of lots of soccer… in between soccer my brother and I would throw all the equipment we had onto our bikes and go to Triangle Park or Hidden Park in Hicksville to play basketball and baseball games. We would be out from sunrise to sunset if we were able to.”

These days, Anthony is becoming acclimated to a normal lifestyle once again.  Anthony is now (in his own words) “back to being a sports fan who loves attending games, an avid traveler who’s always exploring a different country, and a beer nerd who’s down to try a new brewery.”  As his plans to get back to his regular fast-paced and event-filled lifestyle are finally coming back to fruition.

Although Anthony is always on the move in his free time, he still managed to find time for, “The girl of my dreams.”  Anthony and now Wife Casey became married on October 14th, 2021, and have been elated ever since.  Unfortunately, we were not able to get Casey’s take on Anthony (although I’m sure it would be fantastic), Anthony had some kind words to say about his spouse, “I can’t say enough good things about her. She gets me through every day and makes me smile every morning.”
