WHAT’S NEW IS IN BLUE – March 2017

What is your full name?
Anthony Condoleo

How many years have you been with DSJ?
8+ years

What is your title at DSJ?
Supervisor

Where did you work prior to joining DSJ?
While I was in school, I worked as a bookkeeper at Greenfield’s ShopRite.

What do you like most about being an accountant/bookkeeper/support staff?
I like that I have the opportunity to work with many different organizations on a weekly basis and throughout the year. It’s satisfying to know that they rely on and value my opinion when it comes to any questions they may have relating to the accounting of their business.

What do you like most about working at DSJ?
I like to describe DSJ as my second family. Many of us have worked with each other for years and have developed great working relationships. I know that if I ever have any questions I can go to any partner or any staff and they will help me with anything I present to them.

What do you like to do when not working?
I like to do as many road trips as possible with friends traveling to Upstate NY, Boston, DC, Philadelphia and any other place I can find an excuse to visit throughout the year. I also love to go root for my NY Islanders, NY Jets, and NY Mets as often as possible!

I’m an uncle to a niece (5) and nephew (turning 3 in March 2017) (Alessia & Gianluca). I see them everyday so while I’m not working I’m always playing games with them and keeping them busy at night, they never seem to be tired! My nephew just started watching hockey games and some wrestling with me and my brother, so that’s always fun to watch the excitement on his face during the game/event.

I’m in the process of planning a summer vacation to Belgium, so that should be interesting. Planning is still in early stages but bound to include some travels to France/Germany while in the area.

I do like to cook – I do a lot of sous-vide cooking (great for making that perfect steak, pickling and desserts, such as crème brule. Also recently purchased a smoker that I’m excited to use in the summer to smoke some pulled pork and ribs.

Fun fact(s) about yourself?
First generation American, 100% Calabrese (Italian), NY Jets Season Ticket Holder and Home-brewer.  Also, anybody that knows me knows I am a bit of a rare beer bottle collector and “beer nerd” who likes to visit breweries whenever I can.

Still a die-hard Islanders fan so I try to get to as many games as I can make. Still a Jets season ticket holder, so I’m always hanging out their, tailgating etc.

“Foodie” – I love to travel to NYC and try new restaurants and pop-ups like when smorgasbord is open or going to Vanderbilt hall or any of the Madison Square eats to find some new places under the radar. Recent favorites include Mr. Bing. Takumi Taco, Heros NYC and Dulcinea Churros and Co.

Mentioned last time but still a big beer nerd to an extent. My trip to Belgium revolves around making the pilgrimage to Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen. Local favorites include Sand City Brewery (in Northport), Other Half Brewing (in Brooklyn), Transmitter Brewing (in Long Island City) and Suarez Family Brewery (Livingston NY near Hudson Valley Area). Many times a visit to a brewery is an excuse to just get away with some friends for a day trip or for a weekend. Some of these field trips, so to speak, have included going to Washington DC, Maryland, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles to name a few.

I’m in the process of searching for a home, so that’s fun…to an extent. That’s occupying a bunch of my time as well, but I want to make sure I find something that I’m happy with and just feels right.

Favorite Vacation Spot?
Tough to pick just one but Orlando & Las Vegas are always fun. I just love to travel, as you may notice from my above answers!
